Northern Ireland

Primary Education in the UK – Compulsory
England
Primary Education in England begins at the compulsory age of 5 and lasts until the age of 11. The schooling is full-time, five days a week. At the end of Key Stage 1 of primary education, students are given a standard attainment test (SAT) to test their knowledge of core subjects. Scotland

Wales
Secondary Education in Wales is divided into two stages. Key Stage 3 covers Years 7 through 9, or ages 11 to 13. Key Stage 4 covers Years 10 and 11, or ages 14 to 15.
